The Russian government will index the salary for certain categories of state employees by 7.6% from October 1. This was announced on August 2 on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

It is specified that the increase will affect employees of federal government, budgetary and autonomous institutions, as well as employees of federal government agencies and civilian personnel of military units, including a number of other categories.

"30.8 billion rubles are provided in the federal budget for 2025 and the planned period of 2026 and 2027 for the indexation of salaries for such employees," the Russian government's website says.

This increase is aimed at improving the level of real wages, which is one of the legally established wage guarantees enshrined in the Labor Code.

Alexey Govyrin, a State Duma deputy from the United Russia faction, reported on July 28 that starting from October 1, salaries for a number of categories of civil servants would be increased by 7.6% in Russia due to rising inflation. He specified that the increase would affect employees of the Rosgvardiya, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, the FSSP, the FPS, customs, courier services, as well as military personnel. So, salaries will be recalculated from October, and the actual increased payments will arrive in November.
