The President of Laos noted significant successes in cooperation with the Russian Federation

Russia and Laos have achieved significant success in cooperation in a number of areas, including politics, security, trade and energy. This was stated on August 2 by the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thonglong Sisoulit, in an article for TASS.

"Laos and Russia have achieved significant success in the field of politics and security, continued to exchange visits at different levels and in various fields — from academia to top leadership; inter—party ties are closely intertwined," the Lao leader stressed.

Sisulit noted that trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries shows stable development, especially in the fields of mining and processing of minerals and energy. In addition, the Lao leader highlighted the numerous successes achieved by the countries over the past decades in the field of healthcare, educational exchanges, cultural cooperation and other areas.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on July 31 that relations between Russia and Laos are developing steadily and successfully.
