Klyuchevskaya volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash to a height of almost 9 km. This was announced on August 2 by the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service (USGS) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"Klyuchevskaya volcano. The height of the ash release was about 9 thousand meters above sea level," the Telegram channel of the service says.

Earlier, on July 31, it was reported in the Telegram channel of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka network of natural parks that an earthquake in Kamchatka triggered the release of ash from Klyuchevsky volcano, the column reached a height of 6 km.

On July 30, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 8.7 occurred in the Kamchatka Territory. A tsunami threat was declared on the coast of the Avacha Bay. Emergency regimes were introduced in the North Kuril region of the Sakhalin Region and in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. According to the Ministry of Health of the Kamchatka Territory, one person was injured in the region, his condition is satisfactory.

After the earthquake in Kamchatka, an eruption of the Klyuchevsky volcano was recorded. It was noted that red-hot lava descended along the western slope of the volcano, and a glow was observed above the crater and powerful explosions were heard.
