The administration of US President Donald Trump has decided not to impose additional 10% duties on Honduras. This was announced on August 1 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Javier Bu Soto.

"We welcomed the announcement by the U.S. government to exclude Honduras from the new additional 10 percent duties, made by Deputy Secretary of International Trade William Kimmitt," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The minister clarified that this statement was made during the official visit of the Honduran delegation to Washington. During the meeting of the parties, as noted by Bo Soto, bilateral trade was discussed in detail.

On July 3, Bloomberg reported that the White House lifted some of the restrictions on exports to China, which related to software needed for the design of microchips. It was clarified that Washington also promised to allow the supply of jet engines to China if Beijing approves the export of critical minerals to the United States.
