The first direct flight from Riyadh to Moscow is a historic event. This was announced on August 1 by Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"A historic event: the first Saudi airline flight landed in Moscow," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

He specified that these flights will contribute to the development of business, tourism and cultural exchange between Russia and Saudi Arabia. In his Telegram channel, he noted that flights between Moscow and Riyadh will be operated three times a week, and in the future it is also planned to launch a route to St. Petersburg.

"The passengers of the flight thanked the Russian side and expressed hope for the early cancellation of visas, which, of course, will contribute to the rapprochement of peoples," the message says.

The first direct scheduled flight from Saudi Arabia to Russia landed at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport on August 1. It was clarified that the flight of the Saudi company Flynas took off from Riyadh at 08:42 Moscow time and landed in Moscow at 13:46. It was noted that there were 155 passengers on it.
