On August 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation.

The ministry noted the actions of Guard Sergeant Vladimir Morozov, who was on combat duty at one of the deployment lines as part of an anti-tank battery. During the counter-battery battle of artillery units located in the neighboring square, Morozov received a report from an aerial surveillance post on the detection of the location of a reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Krylo type, which circled over the area of concentration of Russian artillery installations.

The drone was promptly destroyed by air defense forces. After the destruction of the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a fire broke out at the crash site near the ammunition storage area of artillery guns. Morozov and the fire brigade immediately moved to the site of the fire and promptly eliminated it, preventing the detonation of the ammunition. Thanks to Morozov's professional actions, enemy intelligence did not receive sufficient data for firing, equipment and personnel were not injured.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry noted the actions of the operator of the guard's sonometric complex, Private Sergei Gusev, who, as part of the reconnaissance and strike division, performed tasks to organize uninterrupted, stable communication and information exchange between the base and the central point of the sonometric intelligence complex. Under the incessant shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants, while moving along the route of laying a communication line, a soldier discovered a cable that had been broken by an explosion and promptly repaired the damage.

As soon as communication was restored, the complex continued to conduct reconnaissance of firing guns, which contributed to the destruction of the artillery of the Ukrainian militants. Thanks to the vigilance and courage of the guard of Corporal Gusev, the firing units continued to provide fire support to the offensive of the Russian motorized rifle units.
