The Suvorov oak from Crimea entered the top three of the Russian Tree of the Year 2025 contest. 70 historical natural rarities from all over the country took part in the competition, the press service of the Republican Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reported on Friday, August 1.

The representative of the peninsula took the third place, 7775 people voted for him, writes IA SevastopolMedia.The first place was taken by Grandma Willow from the Rostov region, the second by the Sumerlin oak from Chuvashia.

The Suvorov oak tree grows near the village of Yablochnoye in the Belogorsky district and has the status of a monument of wildlife of regional importance. The height of the tree is 18 meters, and the circumference of the trunk exceeds 10 meters. It will take several people to cover it.

Legend has it that it was under this oak tree in 1777 that the Russian commander A.V. Suvorov negotiated with representatives of the Turkish Sultan.

Earlier in July, Izvestia reported on the most unpretentious types of indoor plants that are suitable for beginners in floriculture. Among them are epipremnum, scindapsus, aglaonema and schefflera.
