AvtoVAZ has patented the design of the Lada Azimut crossover

AvtoVAZ has issued a patent for the Lada Azimut crossover presented in June. The application appeared in the open database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) on August 1.

Thanks to the publication of the security document, the design team of the first Lada crossover became known. These are Stepan Suslaev, Jerzen Akkerman, Nikolai Suslov and Vitaly Glotov.

The start of serial production of Lada Azimut is scheduled for 2026. The crossover will be equipped with upgraded engines of its own production with a volume of 1.6 liters and 1.8 liters with a capacity of 120 hp and 132 hp, respectively. One of the main and unusual features of the model was the electric heating of the front side windows.

On July 8, LikeAvto Managing Director Julian Gavrilov said that the new Lada Azimut crossover in the basic configuration could enter the market at a price of up to 2 million rubles, and the maximum equipped model could cost about 2.6 million rubles. Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealership network, suggested that the price of the first Lada crossover would range from 2.3 million to 2.7 million rubles.
