In the Moscow region, an employee of the 307th fire and rescue unit of the Mosoblpozhspas State State Institution (the Moscow Regional Fire and Rescue Service), department commander Alexander Sapronov, was killed in the line of duty. This was reported on August 1 in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
The department clarified that Sapronov immediately responded to the emergency call.
"Having arrived at the scene of the fire, he was one of the first, he headed the link of the gas and smoke protection service and immediately entered the burning house to search and rescue people," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that during extinguishing the fire and "working in an inhospitable environment" Sapronov felt unwell and was hospitalized. The doctors carried out all necessary actions to save him, but they could not save him.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations pointed out that during his work in the department Sapronov eliminated a large number of fires and saved dozens of people's lives. The Ministry expressed its deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
On August 1, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that one person was killed in a fire in an administrative building in western Moscow. It was clarified that the fire, which covered an area of 300 square meters, was recorded on Vereiskaya Street, and 58 specialists and 16 pieces of equipment were involved in its elimination.
