Milk harvesting and hay harvesting takes place in Yakutia
More than 35 thousand tons of milk, or 56% of the annual plan, were harvested in Yakutia. Over the same period a year earlier, this figure was more than 32 thousand tons, the press service of the regional government reported on Friday, August 1.

Hay harvesting also continues in the region. As of July 31, more than 80 thousand tons of hay were harvested, which is 18% of the plan. In total, farmers will have to mow 434,334 tons of hay, 24,184 silos and 13,443 tons of haylage.
Almost 21 thousand residents of the republic, consisting of 7968 units, are participating in the campaign. There are 2,804 mechanized, 3,300 semi-mechanized, 64 horse-drawn and 1,800 manual. The operational headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture is working in the region to coordinate seasonal agricultural work.
At the end of July, Izvestia reported that farmers in southern Russia could lose up to 25% of their grain, corn and sunflower crops due to drought. The Ministry of Agriculture recognizes the problem, but says it maintains the forecast for harvesting legumes at 135 million tons under favorable weather conditions.
