The average cost of refueling a car in Russia increased by 9%
The average cost of refueling a car in Russia in the first half of 2025 increased by 9% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1,288 rubles. This was reported on August 1 by TASS with reference to a study by Sberbank.
Russians spent the most on fuel in Moscow — 63.9 billion rubles. The second and third lines in terms of expenses were taken by the Moscow region (39 billion rubles) and St. Petersburg (26 billion rubles).
Russians refueled most often in June, and least often in February. Residents of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug spent the most on fuel per month — 11.2 thousand rubles per person. In the Luhansk People's Republic, this figure was 9.2 thousand rubles, in the Magadan region — 8.4 thousand rubles.
Among the largest cities, St. Petersburg entered the top ten with an indicator of 6 thousand rubles, Moscow and the Altai Republic took 13th and 14th places, respectively (about 5.8 thousand rubles per month).
Earlier, on July 28, it was reported that Russia ranked 15th among 32 European countries in terms of gasoline availability. In Russia, residents can purchase 1,360 liters of Ai-95 gasoline on their average monthly salaries. Luxembourg turned out to be the leader in the availability of gasoline, where residents can purchase more than 2.8 thousand liters of gasoline on their average salaries.
