The perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert Hall fled the scene because their weapons were jammed and running out of ammunition. This is evidenced by the investigation materials released on August 1.

"They fled the concert hall due to the fact that they were afraid that the weapon was jammed and there were few cartridges left," TASS cites the contents of the documents.

It is specified that three terrorists were armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles, and the fourth was carrying a backpack filled with cartridges. During the terrorist attack, two of the three assault rifles jammed, so it was decided to throw them into a backpack in the lobby of the building. The third weapon was left on the way to the border with Ukraine in the Bryansk region.

A day earlier, on July 31, it became known that the terrorist, who was driving the car in which the criminals were trying to leave the country, deliberately directed the vehicle towards people in the parking lot at Crocus City Hall, including children. It was clarified that this was part of the implementation of the terrorist attack.
