- The United States will allocate $3.5 billion for the purchase of AMRAAM missiles for Ukraine and other countries
The United States will allocate $3.5 billion for the purchase of AMRAAM missiles for Ukraine and other countries. The Pentagon announced this on its website on July 31.
"Raytheon, Arizona, has received an unlimited contract worth $3.5 billion with a fixed price for the production of advanced medium-range air—to-air missiles (AMRAAM)," the statement said.
In addition to Ukraine, the contract provides for foreign military supplies to Denmark, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, Israel and other countries. Work in Arizona is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2031.
On July 30, American political scientist John Mearsheimer said that US President Donald Trump did not want to supply Kiev with even more weapons and could allow Ukraine to be defeated. The political scientist noted that the US economy benefits to some extent at the expense of Europe.
