- Putin approved a 30-day deadline for payments to the wounded members of his military and the families of the victims
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law obliging him to make payments to the wounded, volunteers and family members of the deceased participants in a special military operation (SVO) within 30 days. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on July 31.
According to the law, lump-sum payments must be made no later than one month after the date of the right to receive support. It also claims the possibility of granting benefits to the civilian wives of fallen SVO fighters if a number of conditions are met.
Social support measures may be provided to a person who has lived with a member of his family for at least three years, if they have a common minor child and run a joint household. The decision on the fact of cohabitation will be made by the court. However, support cannot be provided if one of the persons was in a registered marriage with another person at the time of the death of the participant.
Federal and regional authorities will establish specific social support measures. The law comes into force from the moment of its official publication.
