The expert gave advice on budget planning for students
Modern students aged 18-25 have become more conscious about finance: many strive for independence, control income and expenses, and even try to save money. However, they often face typical problems, such as informal employment, lack of accounting for funds and irrational budget allocation, the marketing director of Ventra Go told Izvestia on August 1! Anna Larionova.
"To keep the situation under control, it is important to keep a budget even with irregular incomes. It is necessary to record all sources of income, whether it is a part—time job, a scholarship or family assistance, and also carefully record all expenses. At the same time, it is worth dividing expenses into mandatory ones — for example, education, transport and meals — and optional ones in order to understand where you can save money," the expert said.
According to her, it is most convenient to keep records through applications or tables.
"Regular budget analysis will show how expenses can be reduced. It is also important to create a financial cushion — this will protect against unforeseen expenses," she added.
As for part-time work, the expert advises choosing official or transparent employment formats: freelance, remote work, tutoring or platform employment. This option is convenient to combine with studies, and it also reduces the risk of burnout and allows you to plan a budget.
"Among students with good physical condition, the tasks of movers or order pickers in grocery chains are popular — there they can earn up to 75 thousand rubles per month. Part—time jobs as a barista or waiter with hourly pay of up to 500 rubles and tips are also in demand," Larionova summed up.
Earlier, on April 16, it was reported that half of the Russians surveyed (51%) positively assessed their knowledge and skills in the field of personal finance. The rest (49%) admitted to having various problems related to a low level of financial literacy. This is stated in the results of the Renaissance Insurance Group survey, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 16.
