In Moscow, they offered to provide preferential charging of electric vehicles or return the free tariff for at least three more years. With such an initiative, Alexander Davankov, deputy chairman of the New People's Party, deputy of the Moscow City Duma, addressed Maxim Liskutov, head of the Department of Transport of the capital, TASS reported on July 31.

All charging stations of the Moscow Energy project became chargeable from July 23 upon completion of the pilot project, which lasted almost five years. According to the MP, free charging has contributed to an increase in the pace of acquisition of electric vehicles and the formation of charging station infrastructure.

It is necessary to consider the issue of a free/grace period in order to ensure the sustainable development of the transport system and achieve carbon reduction goals, the politician believes. He also suggested evaluating the effectiveness of support measures and developing additional steps to develop the infrastructure of electric filling stations in Moscow.

As stated in Deptrans, an average market tariff has been introduced at all charging stations of the Moscow Energy project since July 23. At direct current stations (starting from 50 kW), the tariff is 20 rubles per 1 kWh, and at alternating current stations (22-44 kW) — 15 rubles per 1 kWh. The introduction of payment will allow the installation of 500 "fast" electric charging stations annually starting this year, the department noted.
