The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has sentenced Alexander Syrov, an 18-year-old resident of Mariupol, to seven years in prison for espionage and high treason. This was announced on Thursday, July 31, by the republican directorate of the FSB.

Syrov was detained in January 2025 on suspicion of complicity with the Ukrainian special services. According to the investigation, being a citizen of Ukraine, he collected and transmitted information about the deployment of Rosgvardiya units in the Mariupol area.

After obtaining Russian citizenship, he, on the instructions of the Main intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, continued to transmit information about Russian military personnel.

"The Supreme Court of the DPR found Alexander Andreevich Syrov guilty and, taking into account the commission of crimes by him at a minor age, sentenced him to imprisonment for a period of seven years, with serving his sentence in a correctional colony of a general regime," the department said.

On the same day in Ufa, a 17-year-old teenager was charged with high treason for collecting information about strategically important facilities of the fuel and energy complex (fuel and energy complex) in Ufa, Kazan and Ryazan, as well as preparing sabotage. According to investigators, from September 2024 to February 2025, the teenager colluded with an unknown curator in the messenger. For a fee of 65,000 rubles, the accused collected information about fuel and energy facilities, cars parked near organizations, institutions and residential buildings of interest to the curator.
