The Palestinian radical movement Hamas has informed Israel through intermediaries that it will not continue negotiations until the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip improves. This was reported on July 31 by The Jerusalem Post (JP) newspaper, citing sources.

At the same time, Israel rejected Hamas' demands for the release of members of the group arrested and captured during the fighting in return for the release of the bodies of the dead hostages.

According to the newspaper's sources, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the partial annexation of the enclave's territory at a closed meeting on July 28 if negotiations on the release of hostages fail. It is clarified that the negotiators represented by Egypt and Qatar continue to work on organizing a new round of meetings.

Since July 27, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced a daily humanitarian pause in the fighting in the Gaza Strip. The pause will be applied in areas where the Israeli army does not conduct operations, in particular, in Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balakha and Gaza.

On July 30, the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave announced that the total number of deaths from malnutrition due to the blockade in the Gaza Strip had increased to 154 people, including 89 children. At the same time, since the beginning of the conflict with Israel on October 7, 2023, the death toll has increased to 60,138 people, 146,269 were injured.
