Hotel accommodation in resort towns and large cities of Russia is more expensive than daily rent by an average of 60%, Domclick analysts estimate. The biggest difference is in the cities of Crimea: in Yevpatoria and Yalta, a hotel room will cost 2.6 times more than renting an apartment.

Analysts compared the cost of living in a standard hotel room or a three-star hotel based on open data for June-July 2025. According to Domclick, in the summer, the average cost of a one—day stay in a daily apartment is 5.3 thousand rubles, while in a hotel or 3* hotel it is 8.5 thousand rubles.

The largest price difference is observed in resort towns with high cost of hotel accommodation (more than 11 thousand rubles per night). Yevpatoria and Yalta became the leaders in terms of the difference in the cost of daily rent and hotels. In Yevpatoria, the average cost of one—day hotel accommodation is almost 162% higher than renting an apartment for rent, and in Yalta — by 161% (14.4 thousand rubles on average for a hotel and 5.5 thousand rubles for daily rent).

Short-term rentals are almost twice as profitable in Kislovodsk, Zelenogradsk, Gelendzhik, Svetlogorsk and Sochi. In these cities, a hotel is more expensive than a short-term rental by more than 90% (or at least 5,000 rubles). In Feodosia, a hotel is 71% more expensive than a daily apartment on average, while in Baltiysk, Pyatigorsk, Yessentuki, Derbent and Alupka, this figure is in the range of 50-60%.

In million-plus cities, short-term rentals are also more profitable than hotels in terms of cost of accommodation. Yekaterinburg has become the city with the largest price gap: a one-day stay in a hotel costs 122% more than renting a daily apartment. In St. Petersburg, Vladivostok and Moscow, the difference in cost in favor of daily rent exceeds 80% or more than 4 thousand rubles in Moscow and more than 5 thousand in St. Petersburg and Vladivostok.
