This was reported on July 31 in the press service of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened against a minor on the fact of an attempt to commit a terrorist act (Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The press service of the Siberian transport Police clarified that a college student tried to set fire to two relay cabinets. The attempt failed due to the fact that the combustible substances used did not ignite. His actions did not affect the movement of trains along this section of the track. Law enforcement officers found that the suspect received instructions on how to make a combustible mixture and a promise to pay $ 700 for the terrorist attack in a messenger from an unknown number.

On July 29, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Trans-Baikal Territory reported that investigators had opened a criminal case against two 16-year-old teenagers suspected of committing a terrorist act by prior agreement.
