- Lula da Silva called the US interference in the Brazilian judicial system unacceptable.
US interference in Brazil's justice system, which is a sovereign state, is unacceptable. This was announced on July 30 by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
"Brazil is a sovereign and democratic state. <...> She stands for multilateralism and harmonious coexistence between peoples. <...> The interference of the US government in the Brazilian justice system is unacceptable," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Lula de Silva noted that despite the trade duties on exports from the country, which were announced by US President Donald Trump, Brazil is still ready for possible negotiations with the American side, but does not abandon those defense tools that are provided for by its legislation.
On July 27, the Financial Times newspaper learned of Brazil's intention to expand cooperation and strengthen ties with the BRICS countries due to the duties imposed by the United States. Special Assistant to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim, in an interview with the publication, noted that the measures taken by the United States against his country only force the authorities to continue moving towards the diversification of foreign policy.
