Brazil bans animal testing of cosmetics
Brazil has banned the testing of cosmetics on animals. The relevant law was signed by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. This was announced on July 30 in the press service of the government of the country.
"President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has approved a law prohibiting the use of live animals in laboratory tests for the development of personal care products, cosmetics and perfumes," the government's website says.
Minister of Environment and Climate Change Marina Silva stressed that the introduction of the new standard is an important step for the country aimed at improving relations between people, animals and nature, as it has already been done in many other countries.
From now on, it is forbidden in the country to test new products and their components on animals. It clarifies that you can only sell products that were already on sale before the adoption of this law.
