The marine Pantsir was taught how to shoot down anti-ship missiles (anti-ship missiles). During the tests of the new Karakurt missile ships, Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile and artillery systems hit the most difficult targets on the first attempt, anti—ship missiles flying at an altitude of 3 to 5 m above the surface of the water, sources in the military-industrial complex told Izvestia.

The marine version of the Pantsir has been finalized since 2021. "The marine Pantsir shot down any other targets, but unfortunately, it worked with defects for low—flying ones," the interlocutors told the publication. They assured that now "the complex has entered reliable operation." Now Pantsir-M can confidently shoot down the entire range of targets, from missiles to small UAVs. In terms of effectiveness, the Pantsiri are probably the most effective complexes of the last line of defense, Dmitry Kornev, editor of the MilitaryRussia website, told Izvestia.

"The marine complex can work not only on air, but also on land and sea facilities," Dmitry Kornev said.

They can be installed not only on the Karakurty, but also on frigates, corvettes, amphibious assault ships and other new ships, said military expert Dmitry Boltenkov.

"The complex is capable of being effectively used to ensure the air and missile defense of our ships and vessels, to create protection against the most modern models of foreign military equipment," he said.
