The American senator commented on the ability of the Russian Federation to cope with sanctions

Due to the fact that Russia has learned how to cope with sanctions, US President Donald Trump has decided to tighten the "rules of the game." This was announced on July 30 by Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist in Russia) on the social network X.

"Russia, you are right when it comes to sanctions. You were able to avoid them and learned to live with them. <...> President Trump is changing the rules of the game," Graham wrote.

The senator explained that the United States plans to impose tariffs on countries that purchase Russian oil and gas.

The congressman added that the overwhelming majority of senators from both parties expressed their willingness to approve the new steps proposed by the American president against Russia.

U.S. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said on July 29 that the United States had taken into account all possible negative consequences from the imposition of secondary sanctions against Russia and its trading partners. Bruce also believes that Trump has been "patient" dealing with the Ukrainian conflict.
