The court in Moscow arrested the ideologist of the RDK Vasily Kiryushchenko in absentia.

Vasily Kiryushchenko, an ideologist and one of the leaders of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) (an organization banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as a terrorist organization), was arrested in absentia in Moscow. This was announced on July 30 on the website of the official portal of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

"The petition for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention has been granted," the material published in the file says.

It is noted that a criminal case was opened against Kiryushchenko in accordance with Part 2 of Article 205.5 ("Participation in the activities of an organization that is recognized as terrorist in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation").

The relevant decision will enter into force on August 5, 2025.

A source told Izvestia on June 6 that a criminal case had been opened against Kiryushchenko, and his name had appeared on the Rosfinmonitoring website. On July 13, the Russian Interior Ministry put Kiryushchenko on the wanted list.
