- The champion Dahlmeier in her will asked to leave her body in the mountains in case of death.
Two-time Olympic biathlon champion Laura Dahlmeier wanted her body to be left there in case of death in the mountains. This was reported on July 30 by ARD TV channel with reference to her manager.
"It was Laura Dahlmeier's expressed and recorded wish that in such a case no one would risk their lives for her. In this situation, her desire was to leave the body in the mountains," her manager said.
He added that it meets the interests of her relatives, who "ask that Laura's last wish be respected."
On the same day, it became known that Laura Dahlmeier died at the age of 31 after being hit by a rockfall while climbing a peak in the Karakoram mountain system in Pakistan.
The athlete and her partner were climbing to a height of about 6,000 m on July 29 when a rockfall occurred. They decided to climb the peak with minimal equipment and without expedition logistics. The incident occurred around noon local time.
