The farewell to the British rock musician, founder of the Black Sabbath band Ozzy Osbourne (real name - John Michael Osbourne) took place on July 30 in his native Birmingham. The police shut down the entire city center because of this.

Thousands of fans of the musician took to the streets of Birmingham. Osborne himself wanted to say goodbye to him not to be a sad event. He planned for fans to celebrate the musician's life and career rather than mourn his passing.

"There will never be a second Ozzy Osbourne. Never. It's not just his musical prowess, but his character, charisma, and the way he carried himself," Peter "Ozzy" Osbourne, a fan of the musician, told Izvestia.

In addition to fans, Black Sabbath members, Metallica leader James Hetfield, and singer Elton John came to say goodbye to the British artist. The musicians admitted that they would miss Osbourne.

"I was just on my way to the stage when I heard about it. You know, even if you know it's inevitable, it's still a shock. At the end of the show, I said, "Let's all say goodbye to Ozzy." And everyone's like, "Ozzy! Ozzy!". He was a really beloved character in the rock world," said rock singer Alice Cooper.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76. The singer suffered from Parkinson's disease and other health problems, including complications from injuries sustained in a fall in 2019.

Prior to that, on July 5, the rock musician played his last concert in Birmingham with Black Sabbath members — guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.
