Law enforcement officers suspect officials of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia of embezzling more than 10 million rubles. This was reported on July 30 in the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"A criminal case is being investigated against officials of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia who are suspected of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (Fraud committed on an especially large scale) and Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code (Abuse of official authority)," the statement said. The investigative authorities found that in 2021-2022, officials of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ingushetia embezzled 10.7 million rubles allocated to compensate teachers for organizing and conducting the Unified State Exam.

According to law enforcement officials, one of the high-ranking employees of the department has already been detained. A criminal case has been opened against the defendants under articles on large-scale fraud and abuse of official authority.

Currently, investigative actions are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
