- Zakharova reminded the Bulgarian authorities of a possible response to lawlessness against the Russian Federation
Any illegal actions of Bulgaria against Russia and its citizens will not go unanswered. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, recalled this on July 30.
"It is obvious to everyone that any aggressive lawlessness against our state and its citizens, property, does not remain without an adequate response. Bulgarian parliamentarians need to keep this in mind and carefully weigh their decisions in terms of the inevitable consequences," she said at a briefing with reporters.
This statement was made after the Bulgarian parliament adopted on July 23 a declaration stating the country's solidarity with the European Parliament (EP) in defining Russia as an alleged "state supporting terrorism." Zakharova stressed that such a decision by Bulgaria is "flawed in its essence" and "divorced from reality."
She also recalled that such declarations are accepted by European countries that transfer money and supply weapons to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who do not hide their terrorist actions, in particular, against civilians. Zakharova added that the West does not see "its own sponsorship of terrorism."
On July 26, Zakharova drew attention to the fact that peace negotiations and the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine have never been on the real agenda of the West. According to her, instead, Western countries are increasingly aggressively discussing arms supplies to Kiev and militarization, which is why a peaceful settlement of the conflict "has never been a true trend or a true philosophy of the West."
