The dealer named the number of Chinese trucks banned in Russia
The number of Chinese Dongfeng, Foton, FAW and Sitrak trucks that need to be upgraded after Rosstandart's statement about their danger may reach 30 thousand units. Andrey Romanyuk, head of the sales department of AAA Trakservice LLC, shared this assessment with Izvestia, commenting on the ban on sales of a number of models of four brands in the Russian Federation.
"These brands are extremely popular in Russia, and if the number of identified discrepancies is large—scale, the number of such vehicles may reach 25-30 thousand units," Romanyuk told Izvestia.
The machines mentioned in the Rosstandart statement are leaders in the segment of inexpensive and affordable models, which makes them popular with consumers in various sectors of the economy, the source said. According to the results of the first half of 2025, FAW, Foton, Dongfeng and Sitrak account for about a third of the heavy truck market (weighing from 16 tons), he said.
Rosstandart issued a number of instructions to representatives of cargo brands on the need for a recall campaign to eliminate violations that pose a "significant danger to the health and life" of road users. It is emphasized that the sale of vehicles must be suspended, otherwise administrative liability will be applied for violation of the requirement.
