Almost 100 forest fires were extinguished in the Moscow region

99 fires have been extinguished in the forests of the Moscow region since the beginning of the current 2025. The total area of the fires was almost 87.8 hectares, the press service of the regional forestry committee reported on Wednesday, July 30.

Since the beginning of the fire season, more than 1.1 thousand employees of forest fire services and 510 units of special equipment have been involved in the elimination of fires.

Currently, the average area of fires in the region is no more than 0.9 hectares. This figure is 35% lower than the average rate of forest burning over the past five years.

The situation in the forests is being monitored using a four-level monitoring system, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya. This allows you to eliminate fires on the day they are detected.

From July 28 to July 30, the third class of fire danger was declared in the entire region due to the hot weather. These days, the air temperature will reach +31 degrees.
