The Kremlin announced the signing of bilateral documents between Russia and Laos
Following the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his counterpart from Laos, Thonglong Sisulit, a number of bilateral documents will be signed. This was announced by the Kremlin's press service on July 30.
"On July 31, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Lao President Thonglong Sisoulit, who arrived in Russia on an official visit. As a result, a number of bilateral documents will be adopted," reads a message posted on the Kremlin's Telegram channel.
It is specified that the heads of state will discuss issues of Russian-Lao trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
On May 23, Putin signed a law that ratifies the agreement on military cooperation between Russia and Laos. The updated agreement was signed by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Andrei Belousov, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, the Minister of Defense of Laos, Army General Tiansamon Tianniat.
Earlier, in April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries with Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Salemsai Commasit. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, traditional for Russian-Lao relations.
