Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have confirmed that the background radiation level at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has not increased. The organization announced this on July 30 with reference to the head of the agency, Rafael Grossi.

"A group of [inspectors] from the IAEA at <... The Zaporizhia NPP confirmed that there was no increase in radiation levels at the facility, as stated by Director General Rafael Grossi," the official account of the IAEA in the social network X (former. Twitter).

On July 29, the press service of the Zaporizhia NPP published a statement on its Telegram channel, in which it also refuted media statements about an increase in radiation levels at the plant.

"The radiation background in the area of the Zaporizhia nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and in the adjacent territories is within the natural, natural norm. Information about the allegedly increased radiation background <...> is not true and is groundless," the statement said.

Representatives of the NPP added that the gamma background level does not pose a danger to the environment.

On July 28, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to the International organizations in Vienna, announced the psychological pressure from Ukraine on the staff of the NPP. Ulyanov also clarified that Ukraine is shelling the satellite city of the Energodar station, where employees and their families live. He stressed that this was a violation, but it was not possible to obtain a corresponding confession from Grossi.
