Over the past day, 356 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 30 people were killed and 433 injured. 25 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on July 30 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

So, in the Rostov region, at night on 1,026 km of the federal highway M-4 "Don", a 39-year-old truck driver with a tank truck, presumably falling asleep at the wheel, ran into a metal barrier fence, after which the car overturned on the roadway and, continuing to slide, broke through a double metal barrier fence separating traffic flows.. Then she collided with three oncoming cars, and all the vehicles caught fire. Four people died in the car accident: the culprit of the accident, as well as the driver and two passengers of one of the cars. The driver of the second passenger car, the driver of the third and four of his passengers, including two children born in 2020 and 2023, were hospitalized with injuries and burns.

The State Traffic Inspectorate urged truck drivers to comply with traffic regulations and driving discipline. When driving a truck, it is important to correctly assess its inertia depending on speed and workload, its dimensions, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and the possibility of skidding. You should not create accidents on the road, get behind the wheel only well rested before the flight. The lives of other road users depend on the driver's discipline, well-being, and experience.

18 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, but 22 road users needed medical help. Half of the bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers. As a result of 66 accidents, 23 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 43 outside their area of operation, five pedestrians were killed, and 62 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 18 child pedestrians, 13 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

Also, 56 accidents involving minors were registered over the past day, in which 64 young road users were injured, including 26 passengers, two cyclists and 18 motor transport drivers. One teenager was killed, a passenger in a car driven by his peer.

So, in one of the rural settlements of the Saratov region, a 14-year-old schoolboy without a driver's license, driving his stepfather's car, which he took without permission, using a key forgotten in the ignition lock, skidded the vehicle while driving and crashed into a tree, leaving the road. As a result of the accident, his age-old passenger was killed, and the culprit of the incident was injured and ended up in the hospital.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting the management of cars and motor vehicles without the appropriate rights and driving skills. The lack of control over the behavior and summer leisure of teenagers, especially in the evening and at night, often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users who do not have driving school training, as well as driving skills.

"In addition, we draw the attention of parents to the administrative responsibility for allowing children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category to drive motor vehicles. We remind parents to teach their children discipline and responsibility for their actions. Adult road users should demonstrate safe behavior on the road by personal example, as well as regularly remind minors of the need to strictly follow traffic rules," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.

Earlier that day, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, warned that information about the allegedly introduced 10-day deadline for car owners to notify the State Traffic Inspectorate of a change in the place of permanent registration, which is distributed online, is not true.
