Central University to open a campus next to VDNKH

Next year, Central University will open a new complex of student dormitories for 1,780 people next to VDNKh, the educational institution said.

According to the university, the campus will appear on the territory of the former Tourist hotel complex. Five buildings with a total area of almost 24,000 square meters will be converted into modern student dormitories. University students will be able to stay in 392 two-room rooms. The hostel will be equipped with places for study, recreation, meetings and joint activities.

The Central University will improve the territory adjacent to the campus: it will replace the road surface and pedestrian paths, develop a new concept of street and landscape lighting, as well as arrange new functional areas.

Alexey Kuznetsov, Chief Operating Officer of the Central University, noted that the number of students at the university is growing. "The acquisition of new buildings is an important and necessary measure, given that at least half of the university's students are from the regions," he added.

Bachelor's and master's degree students can get a place in the hostel if they do not have a residence permit in the areas inside the MKAD.

The campus next to VDNKH will become the fourth complex of student dormitories at the Central University. At the moment, the university has three more spaces.: on the streets of Hasek, Trade Union and Agricultural.
