Information about the allegedly introduced 10-day deadline for car owners to notify the State Traffic Inspectorate of a change in the place of permanent registration, which is distributed online, is not true. Irina Volk, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, announced this in her Telegram channel on July 30.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that the list of obligations of car owners to register vehicles is established by legislation in the field of registration, in particular, Federal Law No. 283-FZ of August 3, 2018.

"In accordance with Article 11 of the Federal Law, the place of residence of the vehicle owner refers to the registration data of the vehicle, which are subject to change. At the same time, the law does not establish a mandatory ten—day period for correcting these data," said Volk.

The car owner is obliged to apply to the registration department of the State Traffic Inspectorate for registration of the vehicle (TS) on the state register within 10 days in some cases. For example, from the date of the vehicle's release into circulation when it is manufactured for its own use, or from the date of acquisition of the vehicle owner's rights.

On July 29, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stated that the information disseminated on the Internet about the ban on the purchase, sale and operation of vehicles with a right-hand drive position was not true.
