A training course for civil resistance instructors has started in Vilnius. This was announced on July 30 on the official website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.

"We strive to ensure that as many citizens of the country as possible know how to behave in emergency situations or during war," said Tomas Godlauskas, Vice Minister of National Defense.

He also noted that at the moment it is planned to hold five trainings, where about 150 instructors will be trained, who will further conduct training in other cities and towns of the country.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said on June 7 that Lithuania is currently not ready to introduce universal military service. The Head of State noted the importance of taking into account the human resources factor when making such decisions. At the same time, according to him, "demography does not work in favor of Lithuania."
