18% of Russians admitted that conditions in the modern labor market have become more profitable and comfortable for applicants than a couple of years ago. Another 11% did not notice any significant changes, and 33% believe that today the circumstances for finding a job are less successful than they were a year or two ago. The Director of research shared such data with Izvestia on July 30. hh.ru Maria Ignatova.

"The feeling that the labor market has become less comfortable for applicants may be due to two factors. Firstly, there is a slowdown in the salary race — the median of the proposed salaries in the first half of 2025 remained almost unchanged, remaining at the level of 75 thousand rubles. Secondly, the competition for jobs has become more pronounced: if in June 2024 there were 3.1 active resumes per vacancy and the market was in short supply, today the situation is closer to normal — and there are already 5.5 resumes per vacancy," Ignatova shared.

Active campaigns to attract people to the labor market, the rapid growth of the salaries offered and the transformation of working conditions, according to her, had the necessary impact, thanks to which even employed Russians began to update their resumes more often and become interested in vacancies.

HR specialists (30%), representatives of the financial sector and accounting, as well as construction workers (23% each) are most likely to believe that labor market conditions have become more favorable for applicants.

The greatest skepticism about how comfortable the modern market is for job search is expressed by senior and middle management — almost half of them (49%) believe that today the conditions for applicants have become less favorable. The same opinion is shared by 43% of HR specialists and 38% of IT specialists.

The assessment of the labor market situation varies significantly depending on the applicant's region. Thus, 31% of Perm Krai residents immediately noted an improvement in employment conditions. Volgograd Region is in second place (23%), Nizhny Novgorod and Sverdlovsk regions are in third (22% each). Applicants from the Altai Territory (46% believe that labor market conditions have become less comfortable for them), the Rostov Region (43%) and St. Petersburg (40%) are more likely to notice negative changes.

Oleg Kim, a lawyer for civil and criminal cases at the Moscow Bar Association Grad, told Izvestia on July 21 that in 2025, the indexation of salaries of employees of budgetary professions will amount to 13.2%. He appreciated this prospect and told us who exactly could expect to receive a salary increase.
