The State Duma proposed to oblige buses to be equipped with air conditioners
The State Duma is preparing a bill that proposes to require buses designed for 22 or more passengers to be equipped with air conditioning and heating systems in accordance with established standards. This was reported by RIA Novosti on July 30
According to the bill, regional authorities will be required to monitor compliance with requirements related to the technical equipment of vehicles, including cooling or heating systems in the cabin. The project also expands the subject of regional state supervision in road transport, urban land-based electric transport and in the road sector.
The explanatory note to the bill notes that the problem is particularly acute in regions where summer temperatures exceed +30°C. The author of the document was Dmitry Gusev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Control (Fair Russia — For the Truth).
He pointed out that currently only 40% of buses in large cities are equipped with air conditioning, and cited the Krasnodar Territory as an example, where residents regularly complain about heavy trips on public transport in the heat. The politician said that the bill is "a salvation for passengers with a minimum load on carriers."
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the air temperature in Moscow in the afternoon would range from +29 to +31 degrees. At night, the thermometer will drop to +16.
