Russian sailor Alexey Galaktionov, who was rescued after the sinking of the Greek cargo ship Eternity C, is undergoing treatment in Sanaa. This was announced on July 30 at the Russian Embassy in Yemen.
It is specified that the victim underwent several operations. Currently, Galaktionov needs to undergo a long course of treatment and recovery.
"He is currently in one of the hospitals in Sanaa and is receiving all necessary assistance," the diplomatic mission told RIA Novosti.
The sinking of Eternity C in the Red Sea after the Houthi attack was reported on July 9. The Yemeni Ansar Allah movement claimed responsibility for the attack.
Later, the US Embassy in Yemen reported on the "abduction by the Houthis" of the ship's crew, which included Galaktionov.
