An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was recorded in the Kosh-Agachsky district of the Altai Republic. This was reported on July 30 on the website of the Altai-Sayan branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to the service, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the area of the North Chuisky ridge about 250 km from Gorno-Altaysk. The intensity of the tremors was 5.5 points.

The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Altai Republic reported in its Telegram channel that local residents did not feel the tremors. There are also no casualties or damage, according to the ministry.

On the same day, an earthquake occurred in Kamchatka. As a result of a seismic event in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the collapse of the wall of one of the kindergartens was recorded. A state of emergency has been introduced in the North Kuril region of the Sakhalin Region.

Later, the governor of the Sakhalin Region, Valery Limarenko, reported on the first wave of the tsunami that struck the territory of the coastal zone of Severo-Kurilsk. There are no casualties or serious damage. He added that residents are being evacuated in the city, and all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of people.

In Kamchatka, one woman was injured, and doctors assess her condition as satisfactory.
