Visits to the SRT increased fourfold during the Moscow flood

The number of visits to Moscow car service stations began to grow noticeably day by day from July 25 and reached its peak on July 26. The dynamics of car arrivals during the week from July 21 to July 27 — during heavy rains and bad weather in Moscow and the region — was analyzed in the international network of Fit Service car services. The results of the study were reviewed by Izvestia on July 30.

If we compare the number of car arrivals on Saturday, July 26, with the previous day, the increase was 429%. This is almost a full load of car service stations in Moscow and the region, Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service Fit Service, told Izvestia.

"In addition, experts assessed the number of customer requests to the centralized contact center, as well as through online platforms and messengers of the network. The data repeats the situation with car arrivals: on Friday and Saturday, the customer service recorded the maximum load in Moscow and the Moscow Region, while there was a decline in calls and messages from car owners across the country," he said.

Due to bad weather and heavy rains, a variety of car breakdowns could occur. Experts recalled that it is extremely important not to try to start a car that has been submerged in water deeper than half a wheel. Also, you should not drive a car if the red indicators on the instrument panel are on — most often these are serious malfunctions. If such breakdowns are suspected, a tow truck should be called and the car delivered to the service station only in this way.

On July 22, Alexander Khaminsky, head of the Law Enforcement Center in Moscow and the Moscow Region, told Izvestia that if a car flooded during the Moscow rains is insured under a hard hat, then this is considered an insured event. However, the CTP policy does not provide for payments in such situations, as it only covers damage caused to third parties in an accident.
