A woman who was injured during an earthquake at Yelizovo airport in Kamchatka is in satisfactory condition. Oleg Melnikov, Minister of Health of the Kamchatka Territory, announced this on July 30.

"The victim has bruised head wounds. The general condition is satisfactory, primary surgical treatment has been performed," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the ministry, no other victims with injuries sustained during the tremors were admitted to hospitals in the region.

Earlier it was clarified that the airport was operating normally during the earthquake.

The earthquake occurred earlier in the day. A tsunami threat has been declared on the coast of Avacha Bay in Kamchatka. After a seismological event in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the wall of one of the kindergartens collapsed, and an emergency regime is in effect in the North Kuril district of the Sakhalin Region.

Later, the governor of the Sakhalin Region, Valery Limarenko, announced the first tsunami wave in the coastal zone of Severo-Kurilsk. No serious damage or casualties were found. The head of the region clarified that residents are being evacuated in the city, and all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of citizens.
