Zakharova criticized the US refusal to participate in the UN conference on Palestine
On July 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized a statement by Tammy Bruce, a representative of the U.S. Department of State, regarding the opening of an international conference on the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of a two-state solution at the UN headquarters in New York.
On Monday, July 28, Tammy Bruce announced that the United States would not participate in the conference. According to her, the event damages diplomatic efforts, is a "slap in the face to the victims of October 7" and an "insult."
"Does the supply of American weapons to the Kiev regime offend the victims of Donbass? Isn't this a slap in the face to the American allies in World War II — the soldiers of the Red Army who liberated Ukraine, whose monuments are now exploding and their graves are being leveled to the ground," Zakharova commented on Bruce's statement.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry also asked if Bruce did not perceive as an insult to the memory of the children from the Alley of Angels in Donetsk the fact that cartridges produced in American factories are used by the Ukrainian military.
On July 27, Zakharova criticized the fact that the UN Human Rights Committee (HR Committee) did not provide a legitimate assessment of violations of the rights of the Russian-speaking population in Latvia. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that such UN measures indicate the scale and consistency of Riga's Russophobic policy towards Russia.
