The magnitude of the strongest earthquake in Kamchatka since 1952, according to preliminary data, reached 8.7. This was announced on July 30 at the Federal Research Center of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FITSGS RAS).

"The strongest earthquake has occurred in the Kamchatka seismofocal zone since 1952. The magnitude, according to various estimates, reaches 8.7," the agency said in a Telegram channel post.
