Trump named a new deadline for resolving the conflict in Ukraine
An agreement on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine should be reached within 10 days. This was announced on July 29 by US President Donald Trump.
"In 10 days," Trump told reporters when asked about new deadlines for a peaceful settlement.
He added that he intends to impose import duties in the absence of a deal on Ukraine. The US president also said he was not sure if they would work on Russia.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia had taken note of Trump's statements about shortening the deadline for reaching an agreement on the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Moscow remains committed to the peace process to resolve the conflict, as well as to ensure the interests of the Russian Federation during the negotiations.
On July 28, Trump shortened the deadline for reaching an agreement on the Ukrainian conflict to 10-12 days. According to him, the 50-day deadline he set earlier was "generous." The US president also stressed that he had not seen any progress towards a ceasefire.
