Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Ambassador of the state to the UK Valery Zaluzhny wrote a column and took part in a photo shoot for the fashion magazine Vogue. The corresponding publication is posted on the website of the Ukrainian version of the publication.

In the column, Zaluzhny shared his biography. So, he spoke about "the roots of identity, the power of unity and the main historical lessons for Ukrainians." According to him, his family always spoke Ukrainian. At the same time, in the city of Zhytomyr region, where Zaluzhny lived, most of the people spoke Russian. Because of this, his family felt like "strangers."

Especially for the publication, Zaluzhny took part in a photo session, where he posed in a dark classic suit and a white shirt, complementing "Газета.Ru ".

In early February last year, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Zaluzhny from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He appointed Alexander Syrsky to his post, who has served as commander of the Ground Forces since 2019.

On March 7, 2024, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced the appointment of Zaluzhny to the post of ambassador to the United Kingdom. Zelensky explained the decision by his personal desire to work as a diplomat.

On March 3, 2025, Zelensky appointed Zaluzhny concurrently as the permanent representative of the state to the International Maritime Organization.
