The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to pay 10 thousand for school uniforms.

In the Russian Federation, it was proposed to introduce an annual payment of 10,000 rubles to parents of students for the purchase of school uniforms, the press service of the Liberal Democratic Party told Izvestia.

"The payment is provided only for students in state and municipal schools where clothing requirements apply, which eliminates double regulation in relation to private educational organizations. The amount of payment — 10 thousand rubles per child annually — is set taking into account the average market cost of a set of uniforms. The implementation mechanism, including the list of documents, deadlines and sources of financing, will be determined by a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation," the explanatory note to the bill says.

The chairman of the faction, Leonid Slutsky, said that the amount could be adjusted from the average market value.

"Not only does it cost parents 8-15 thousand rubles to purchase such a set of clothes, but speculators also raise prices by about 10% on the eve of the start of the school year. But we also need to provide the child with shoes, a backpack, and stationery. In order to relieve parents across the country, at least in the main part, of this financial burden, the Liberal Democratic Party proposes to pay them compensation for the purchase of school uniforms — 10 thousand rubles annually. But adjust the amount depending on the average market cost of a set of uniforms," he told Izvestia.

Currently, according to Rosstat and independent research, the cost of purchasing a set of school uniforms averages 8-15 thousand rubles per child per year.

"The introduction of payments for the purchase of school uniforms will strengthen the social protection of families and will contribute to the implementation of the principle of accessibility of general education," the LDPR press service added.
