The Presnensky Court of Moscow extended until January 22 the arrest of blogger Areg Shchepikhin (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring) in a case of incitement to hatred or enmity. This was announced on July 29 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Presnensky courtroom in Moscow.

On that day, the court began to consider the blogger's case on its merits.

Shchepikhin was added to the list of terrorists and extremists on July 9.

The blogger became widely known after the high-profile story of his alleged "abduction." On the evening of June 3, at Yaroslavsky railway Station, several unidentified men pinned Shchepikhin down, pushed him into a black Mercedes with flashing lights and AMR plates and took him to an unknown destination.

Employees of the Main Directorate for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation began checking the blogger after this statement. A criminal case was opened on kidnapping and abuse of office. It is known that six people were detained.

On June 5, criminal cases were opened against the blogger under the articles "Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity" and "Public calls for extremist activities."
