The analyst listed the most popular long-lived foreign cars in the Russian Federation

In 2025, more than 20% of the secondary car market in Russia is accounted for by cars manufactured more than 20 years ago. Over the past six months, 315 thousand such cars have been resold. The Toyota brand is the bestseller of this market segment, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said in his Telegram channel on July 29.

Toyota leads the ranking with 90.8 thousand oversold cars. Nissan brand is in second place with a large gap (32.7 thousand units), Honda became the third (21.8 thousand units). Followed by Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda and Audi, BMW and Opel complete the top ten.

In the model rating, the ten most popular age cars were topped by the Toyota Corolla (15.2 thousand units), the top three were complemented by the Volkswagen Passat (9.4 thousand units) and Mercedes-Benz E-Class (6 thousand units). Behind them are BMW 5 series, Toyota Mark, Toyota Carina, Volkswagen Golf, Toyota Corona, Ford Focus and the Honda CR-V.

Half of foreign cars over the age of 20 are sold in the eastern part of the country — the Siberian regions account for 26.3%, the Far Eastern regions — 17.2%, and the Urals - 6.1%. Almost every second foreign car of this age (46%) has a right-hand steering wheel, the analyst added.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that by the end of June 2025, the average price of a used passenger car in Russia was almost 1.43 million rubles, which is 3.6% less than at the beginning of the half-year. Used cars have been getting cheaper since February, the fifth month in a row.
